Hi, I’m Jen, the face behind the glasses of Glasses and Boarding Passes! I’m so glad you’re here.

I believe that travel can be empowering for everyone, but especially for other female and queer travelers! I have learned so much about myself through travel, and I hope to help you have the same transformative experiences – no matter how you identify.

For me, the experience of traveling the world for the first time and coming to terms with my sexuality happened simultaneously, and so those feelings – those aha! moments when things seem to finally fall into place – are forever intrinsically linked. When I was a sophomore in college, I left my friends and family behind (including my roommate turned best friend turned girl that I was maybe falling in love with) to spend a semester studying abroad in London. Every weekend we jetted off somewhere new – Paris, Munich, Galway, Lucerne, Venice – and I felt myself blossoming with every adventure. As I learned more about the world, I learned more about myself – what I believed, who I could become, who I could love.

Each time I see more of the world, a little piece of myself unlocks. Do you feel that way too?

While we never really stop growing and unlocking those parts of ourselves, I have grown up from that confused girl who was both navigating the streets of London and of her own heart. I feel more myself than ever. And though I frequently travel alone, I am now often joined on my travels with my lovely wife, Kelly. Some of the biggest moments of our relationship have involved travel and our favorite destinations – from our engagement in Germany to our Milwaukee themed wedding to our honeymoon in South Africa. Travel continues to be linked to these beautiful moments in my life – and they can be for you, too.

So, grab your boarding pass, and let’s get going on our next adventure!

My pronouns are she/her.
