Rainbow ornament on Christmas Tree

With the holidays just around the corner, I’ve finally started to think about my holiday shopping! This year, in the middle of a global pandemic that finds many small businesses struggling, I believe it’s more important than ever to spend our hard-earned money in places that align with our values. That’s why I’ve compiled this list of 11 amazing LGBTQ+ gift ideas for queers, by queers – because there’s nothing better than supporting other members of our community!

Enjoy, and happy shopping!

1. Autostraddle merch

Autostraddle is one of my favorite websites because it’s specifically made for queer women! They’re not afraid to talk about real issues impacting the LGBTQ+ community – I always leave their site feeling educated and entertained. So what better way to support this awesome organization than with some of their witty dyke merchandise? The Autostraddle merch store has all sorts of cheeky tees to fit your queer needs.

2. Crochet pride flag rainbow ornament

Perfect for the holiday season, this crochet rainbow ornament by Wander Free and Queer will give any tree that extra touch! (In all honesty, I’m going to hang mine around my house year-round!) The owners of this shop are full time queer travelers living in their RV and exploring the U.S. Bonus: each rainbow is made to order and is completely customizable – meaning you can get it in the colors of your favorite pride flag!

3. Automic Gold jewelry

What Automic Gold piece have you been eyeing?

As a femme, I absolutely adore tiny gold jewelry! Needless to say, I was thrilled to find Automic Gold, a queer-owned company – the founder is genderqueer and uses they/them pronouns. Automic Gold also makes jewelry for all genders and across a wide range of sizes. If you’re not sold yet, all of their models are incredibly diverse, and none of them are photoshopped. I love this company so much that I really hope my wife reads this and takes a hint for my Christmas list…

4. Junebug and Darlin cross stitches

If you need something to get you through quarantine and these long winter months, look no further than the adorable yet feisty cross stitches from Junebug and Darlin. Designs range from classic florals to political statements to queer declarations. With so many options, you’re sure to find one that fits the queer on your list!

5. Femme rainbow earrings

When I first saw these gorgeous earrings, I knew I needed a pair! They’re the perfect mix of classy femme lesbian that I need in my life. Plus, they support a new online publication for femme LGBTQ+ women, the Femme Edition. Can’t go wrong with this one!

6. Little Pickle Memories cards and baby books

For anyone who has gone through a major life event like getting married or having a baby, you know how gendered these industries are. That’s why Little Pickle Memories is here to help! They create a variety of inclusive cards for weddings, holidays, and special events for people of all sexualities and genders. They also create gender-neutral baby books that refer to ‘parent’ throughout (instead of the traditional mom and dad)!

7. Wildfang clothing

If you’re looking for iconic lesbian style, this is it. Wildfang’s button downs, suits, and tees come in all sorts of patterns and colors, so they’re always sure to make a statement. Made for women, by women, these items will fit your body without sacrificing comfort or style.

There’s not much on this Earth that I love more than chocolate, and when I learned about this LGBTQ+ owned chocolate brand, I knew I had to try it! Five North Chocolate sells three types of fair-trade chocolates: sea salt pistachio, cinnamon almond, and goji berry. You can even get a sampler pack with all three flavors if you’re like me and can’t decide because they all sound so delicious!

9. Fluide makeup

Queer beauty products don’t get better than this! Fluide creates bold and bright cosmetics for everyone, regardless of race or gender. I love that their models are super diverse and include people across the gender spectrum. Plus, their products are vegan, cruelty-free, and paraben-free!

10. Tomboyx underwear

Tomboyx started out as an underwear company looking to remove size and gender from the industry. While they now make all sorts of clothing, I still love their underwear! They’re extremely comfortable, available in a wide range of sizes, and come in a variety of colors and patterns. Their rainbow-banded briefs are one of their most iconic items – you can’t go wrong with a pair!

11. Babeland sex toys

This wouldn’t be an adequate LGBTQ+ gift ideas list if it didn’t include sex toys, right?! Babeland is one of my favorite sex toy stores because they are so educational and women-positive. You can find a wide variety of toys as well as informative products and events to ensure you’re having the best (and safest) sex of your life! They also offer discrete shipping, so you don’t have to worry about nosey neighbors when purchasing online.

Well, are you full of LGBTQ+ gift ideas for that queer on your list? Or, if you’re like me, maybe you just added a bunch of items to your own wish list! I’d love to know your favorite items – let me know in the comments!
